Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
E-consent for school immunisation service
This sits in the upper-middle of the Software & IT Systems band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 30,286 valued Software & IT Systems tenders in our corpus.
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust wishes to purchase a e-Consent Management Solution for its school aged immunisations programme.
The service currently delivers the following three immunisation programmes in over 350 schools across Berkshire: - Autumn term - The seasonal influenza (Flu) vaccination for children in year's reception to year 6 and those attending special schools. - Spring term - Teenage booster of Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio (Td/IPV) and Meningococcal ACWY vaccination (Men ACWY) for boys and girls in year 9 - Summer term - Doses 1 and 2 Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) for girls in year 8/9, NB from September 2019, this programme is extended to boys in Year 8.
The current process is almost entirely paper based and the increase in activity is making this difficult to manage without additional resource or new ways of working.
A project looking to redesign the current service was conducted during 2018 and one of the main recommendations was digitisation of the current process to make this more effective, more efficient, provide better real-time information about performance and support different ways of working.
Berkshire Healthcare therefore wishes to procure a software application to digitise the whole of the redesigned process for the delivery of immunisations to children in schools.
It is expected that digitisation will automate many of the current processes freeing up both administrative and clinical time that can be better utilised providing a higher quality and more effective immunisation service to local parents, children and schools.
The application will be required to gather consent from parents online, filter submitted consents that require review by a human, produce electronic clinic lists, collect data on the day re immunisations and upload this data into the clinical system: Open RiO and be compatible with a laptop and tablet device.
