Providers of community ophthalmology services will be required to contribute to a Consultant Led Ophthalmology Network, (CLODN) with a responsibility to develop and implement citywide approaches to :- - Reducing unwarranted clinical variation - Development of appropriate, safe and effective clinical pathways and protocols (including care being delivered in appropriate settings using appropriate skill mixing - Sharing best practice - Fostering innovation - Assuring quality - Fostering system integration - Supervising system wide audit, training and development, and peer review/peer support.
The service will: Offer patients a choice of locations and appointment times, ensuring equitable timely and appropriate access; Ensure that patients are seen and treated in a safe environment, most appropriate to their care needs; Provide best value for money, delivering effective and sustainable use of resources.
A comprehensive consultant-led community ophthalmology service to provide a full local pathway for Leeds patients encompassing: - Clinical assessment and triage - Opinion and Advice for patients and referrers - Treatment and recovery where applicable - Discharge back to the appropriate level of care - Referral onwards only where appropriate Max price is based on 3+1+1
