The brief

Description Market Engagement Event: Help Shape the New Rochdale Tender opportunity - Help us shape the new Rochdale Architects and urban designers are invited to bid for the opportunity to re-imagine Rochdale's grade I listed town hall and its surrounding area.

The town hall has just been awarded a first stage pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) as part of a £20m transformation.

We want teams with vision and considerable experience of working with historic buildings to help guide this major project to restore the town hall's many heritage features and re-imagine spaces to create a major visitor attraction.

An opportunity is also available for the redevelopment of Town Hall Square, which is surrounded by historically significant buildings in the heart of the town centre conservation area, with £3m (including professional fees) allocated for this part of the project.

These projects are part of the council's vision to reinvent Rochdale and invest heavily in culture and heritage following a £250m investment programme, which has transformed the town centre.

The re-imaging of the Town Hall and its square will help us make Rochdale an even better place to live, work, visit and invest and we want you to be part of it.

We're holding a market engagement day event for potential suppliers at Rochdale Town Hall on Friday 15 June.

The event will be held over two sessions: Session 1 - 10:00 - 12:00 Session 2 - 13:00 - 15:00 Format for both sessions: 1) Presentation by Rochdale Council: Rochdale Town Hall & Town Hall Square: The Opportunity Presentation by STAR Procurement: 2) The Process (procurement procedure) 3) Social Value Q&A 4) Questions for attendees and comments on the specification to all panel members
