A new £50m scheme will accommodate the National Innovation Centre for Ageing (NICA) and the National Innovation Centre for Data (NICD) in one building located on the Newcastle Helix site.
Our vision is for an inspiring building of international repute incorporating cutting-edge facilities to promote colocation and collaboration.
The key objectives are to provide an innovative, collaborative environment where academic and industry leader in their field can come together to develop innovative solutions to societal issues.
Accommodation is to include provision for exhibition, event and meeting areas, project and flexible office space, research space, commercial space, product testing and demonstration spaces, breakout spaces, ancillary facilities and possibly some catering facilities.
The theme of innovation should exude from the design of the built environment to promote the desire to visit and engage with the building, the people and the activities within.
This will be the University's third major development on the Newcastle Helix site following the Urban Sciences Building (USB) and the Learning and Teaching Centre (LTC).
The scope of this contract is for the supply and installation including project management of various furniture within the NICA and NICD buildings and associated warranties.
