Robot Tender 2
There is now a requirement to procure three robots of different sizes which will form the basis of a facility that is to be located in the Robotics Laboratory within the School of Computing, Science & Engineering (CSE).
The purpose of this facility will be to teach engineering manufacturing techniques involving the use of robots.
The types of project likely to be carried out with this facility would typically involve the orientation of a part being manufactured by one robot, combined with simultaneous machining or processing operations being carried out by the second and possibly third robots.
The robots will be required to either operate independently of each other, or as part of a combined robotic cell, thereby enabling students to work independently or as groups on a variety of robot related part handling and assembly projects.
For this reason, three different types of robot have been identified and form the basis of this tender.
The lowest value has been declared at £25,000 but the University does not know at this stage what the actual value might be.
