Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Client provides mental health care to those people living in Birmingham, Solihull and the wider West Midlands region who are experiencing mental ill health The Client employs a total of approximately 4200 staff and has approximately 1400 workers registered with the Client's in-house Bank.
Additionally, the Client also has number of Volunteers, Work Placement/Trainees and Suppliers working across the Client As a client providing services to people with mental health issues the Client will to engage with and utilise the expertise of people with lived experience of mental health problems as employees, volunteers and as expert consultants, as part of the recovery journey.
The majority of people who experience mental illness or mental health issues have a clear desire to work and there is a strong evidence base that, with encouragement and effective support structures, even people with serious and enduring mental ill health do work successfully, to the benefit of both employee and employer; the Client has a recovery based model for its service delivery and the Client aims to be an employer of choice and "mindful‟ employer demonstrating to staff the value of working alongside service users as colleagues who have obtained and are sustaining employment in line with the recovery and social inclusion models.
The Client is looking for a comprehensive, fully integrated, high quality and modern Occupational Health Service (OHS), which represents Value for Money (VfM) and complies with national standards and supports in the utilisation and future development of Trust policies.
The service will be flexible and accessible to the Clients employees, Bank Staff, Volunteers, individuals on honorary contracts, Work Placement/Trainees, students, SSL staff (Estates & Facilities) and any contracting staff as specified by the Client.
