Market Testing Questionnaire Closing date 20.12.2024 1300 hours Waste Collection Transformation - Supply, distribution and Deliver of Bins, Caddies and Liners (This is not a call for Competition)
This is not a call for competition, this is a soft market testing exercise for further details please go to https://in-tendhost.co.uk/blackcountryportal/aspx/ The purpose of this exercise is to inform potential procuring arrangements and distribution and delivery of waste collection receptacles including food waste caddies and liners.
Dudley Council's household waste is currently collected from 141,641 properties as separate waste streams and taken to either our Lister Road Depot (Residual waste) or Blowers Green Depot (Recycling).
All collected recycling is then collected by separate contractors for the different material types of Glass, Plastic/Cans and Paper.
Dudley Council does not collect any food waste currently but is looking to do so from April 2026 in line with the new regulations.
The council has looked at our operating model and is planning to combine the collection of mixed glass with mixed plastics and cans and start the collection of Food Waste from April 2026.
We anticipate our requirements to be as follows: 142,000 x 7 Litre Kitchen Food Waste Caddies 140,000 x 23 Litre Kerbside Food Waste Caddies 140,000 x 240 Litre Wheeled Bin (for glass, plastic and cans recycling) 142,000 x Rolls of Food Waste Caddy Liners (52 liners per roll) All receptacles are to be branded with the council logo on body of the bin and in addition the food waste caddies are to be branded with a government logo to be provided.
We are seeking to provide each household in the borough with all of these items in a single delivery.
All households should receive their delivery by 1st April 2026 as this is when the collection model starts.
