The brief

NHS England’s Yorkshire and the Humber Team are overseeing the provision of local GP practice services and currently reviewing a number of practices in the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw areas.

NHS Y&tH propose to commission an Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contract which is currently delivered at Chantry Bridge Medical Practice (Rotherham, South Yorkshire).

The list size of the practice is approximately 1,700 patients as at April 2015.

It is envisaged that the tender documentation for the re-procurement of this service during July 2015, with an anticipated service commencement date of 1st November 2015.

Aims - The aim of the service is to deliver essential, additional and enhanced services to registered patients from premises located in central Rotherham – Rotherham Community Health Centre, Greasbrough Road, Rotherham, S60 1RY.

Social Value - Under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the contracting authorities must consider (i) How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area ("area" is the geographic area for which the procurement is taking place); and (ii) how, in conducting the process of procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement.
