The brief

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is seeking to understand where it could usefully engage and support with the social sector to address the shortfall in adult social care workers through international recruitment.

The aim is to understand how DHSC can: • Help social care employers make more effective and efficient use of international recruitment to address workforce shortages and improve services. • Ensure the care sector can recruit international staff effectively, ethically, and safely, protecting workers from exploitation. • Make the process less complex and more streamlined for employers and for potential recruits.
