Cornwall and Isles Scilly Local Area Energy Plan (CIOS LAEP)
This is a large award for Research & Development — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 20,405 valued Research & Development tenders in our corpus.
Supply of the services to support the development of Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP) for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Local Area Energy Plan is intended to support the identification of a rapid energy decarbonisation pathway that will facilitate both Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to transition to a net zero energy system.
Cornwall Council has successfully secured a provisional commitment from the South West Net Zero Hub to provide grant funding to enable the piloting of the "Ofgem Method" for developing an LAEP and Energy Systems Catapult's LAEP Guidance on Creating an LAEP.
The LAEP scope must include the whole energy system, including decarbonisation of electricity, heat, and gas networks, future potential for renewable fuels, the built environment (industrial, domestic and commercial), flexibility, storage and providing energy to decarbonised transport.
The expectation is that the development of the CIOS LAEP will commence as soon as governance approvals are in place and the supplier has been procured, with the policy development works completed by the end of March 2024.
