ASELA has secured funding from Highways England to design, build and deliver a LoRaWAN IOT Network across South Essex.
The procurement will be to: • Deliver contiguous outdoor coverage across the South Essex. • Design, build and manage a network that will be owned by ASELA'S Local Authority Partners. • Deliver a LoRaWAN IOT network driven by outcomes specified by the ASELA partners. • Create an Open and "Free to use an outdoor " LoRaWAN Network connected into the Things Network which should also incorporate a capability to deliver a future Carrier Class solution.
This Dual network requirement capability must be built within the Gateway hardware deployed to support your bid solution. • Deliver a network that will provide support for multiple sensors (types / manufactures) and solutions, but still be integrated in respect to collecting and sharing data.
There should not be additional costs to add sensors to the "Free to Use" network. • Support through access to open data work with schools and empower local digital skill training. • Provide data to inform public sector policy and strategy • Support the delivery of future public services. • Stimulate innovation and economic growth to enable local businesses to embrace the opportunities offered by IOT and to grow accordingly. • Secure a delivery partner who is willing to partner and develop the opportunities offered by this LoRaWAN network and be innovative around approach to delivery and cost models.
