The brief

We will deliver a series of webinars (including non-contracted deliverables as a value add) between January and March 2024 to focus on how trusts can implement the six high impact actions of the NHS EDI Improvement Plan, as well as explore the links to the NHS Standard contract requirements of submitting a WRES / WDES action plan.

These will be virtual sessions open to NHS providers and systems, aimed primarily at board members and senior leaders. • 'Empowering your workforce to challenge discrimination (linked to High Impact Action 6) on 20 February 2024.Through show casing interventions, this webinar will support trust leaders to: ensure concerns raised about racism are dealt with in a proactive, preventative and timely manner; establish internal data driven accountability that is scrutinised at every level; and demonstrate their understanding of and progress towards race equality. • 'Can we talk about race?' (21 March 2024).

This session will focus on how leaders are enabling conversations about race and involving staff, patients, and communities.

It will help leaders talk about race authentically and recognise that this is a critical part of leading change.

The session will help develop awareness that it is the responsibility of all leaders to create the environment that fosters inclusion. • 'Embedding antiracism at system, place and neighbourhood' (5 February 2024).

A collaboration between our race equality and Leading Integration Peer Support programmes.

LIPS is delivered in partnership with The Local Government Association, NHS Providers, and NHS Confederation to provide a uniquely sector-led approach offering support for local health and care system.

The session will help develop awareness that it is the responsibility of all leaders to create the environment that fosters inclusion and share evidence-based practice on how this is being done in other organisations.

It will support leaders to understand how they can embed inclusive leadership behaviours and what personal accountability looks like, with a particular focus on racial equality at a system, place and neighbourhood level.

We will facilitate the initial setup of a system collaborative to follow early adopters of the EDI Improvement plan in their implementation approach, with a continuous improvement methodology.

This will involve: • 1:1 insight calls with early adopters (January/February 2024) • virtual roundtable with early adopters (end of March 2024) - the topic will be determined by the intel received from the insight work above. • A summary briefing (roundtable and insight calls) (March/April 2024
