Pendennis Castle and St Mawes Castle Display Fit Out
This sits in the upper-middle of the Recreation, Culture & Sport band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 3,522 valued Recreation, Culture & Sport tenders in our corpus.
Pendennis Castle is a spectacular artillery fortification located in Falmouth, Cornwall, and boasts an active history of 416 years (1540-1956).
Built for Henry VIII to hold a large complement of heavy guns, today it still has a large and varied collection that illustrates the development of artillery over the whole period.
The smaller St Mawes Castle is arguably the best-preserved of Henry VIII's coastal artillery forts.
The fort retains much of its original appearance and is the most elaborately-decorated forts of Henry's 'device'.
Pendennis and St Mawes' are positioned either side of the mouth of the River Fal.
Together the Castles provided overlapping protection for the stretch of water known as Carrick Roads.
Working to detailed design drawings supplied by Simon Leach Design (design consultants), English Heritage is looking for a contractor to manufacture and install a new interpretation scheme throughout both sites.
