The brief

Medical Ventilators and Portable Ventilators The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the need to have a healthcare education setting that can provide training for clinical staff in acute critical care settings, and to be able to respond to an urgent need for staff to quickly reskill and be redeployed.

We wish to equip an interprofessional learning hub that will be accessible both to our own students and the local NHS hospital and ambulance trusts that can teach the advanced skills of caring for a patient in Intensive and high dependency settings, particularly those with acute respiratory distress syndrome.

There is growing evidence that unwell people are delaying seeking medical attention, and it is becoming increasingly common that critically unwell people are not just encountered by healthcare staff in intensive care settings, we need a workforce that can recognise, respond to and care for these patients in all areas.

The University of Portsmouth is looking to purchase 2 medical ventilators and 4 portable transport ventilators for use in the interprofessional learning hub.

Due to strict time restraints on this project, We require the supplier to be able to provide both types of ventilators, we are not looking for suppliers that can only provide part of.

Suppliers must be able to deliver by 15th March 2022 We require these devices to be compatible with medical manikins rather than real patients, and for them to operate using oxygen supply from a cylinder rather than central piped supply.
