UK SBS Coils for Type 3 Quadrupole Magnets

The ISIS Synchrotron at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory is undertaking a refurbishment program to replace the coils in the Q3 quadrupole magnets.

The Q3 magnets are normal conducting D.C quadrupole magnets with a solid yoke construction that provide a symmetrical field about the beam centre-line.

Each Q3 consists of 4 coils which each contain a single feed and return line.

The scope of the contract is to manufacture, test and supply the replacement coils for the upgrade of the Q3 magnets at ISIS.
