19-SJM-13 Field Emission Gun Scanning Electron Microscope ( FEGSEM) The University of Portsmouth has recently been awarded £5.8milllion in funding from the Research England Expanding Excellence Fund to set up the Centre for Enzyme Innovation (CEI).
Coupled with significant investment by the University, this major funding will speed up our progress towards finding a solution to one of the world's greatest environmental challenges, plastic waste.
As part of our research in this field, we are inviting tenders for the supply of a field emission gun scanning electron microscope.
This will be used as part of innovative research in order to perform high resolution, low voltage imaging of biological samples.
Mandatory site visits will be held at University of Portsmouth on 15th October and 16th October 2019.
Suppliers should choose a date and attend this mandatory site visit.
This is required to determine suitability of proposed installation site and perform environmental survey [em-fields, vibration etc.
Suppliers should then detail any recommendations or demonstrate their products suitability in their bid.
Should a supplier miss this date, we will be endeavor to accomodate an additional site survey date but this is not guaranteed.
All surveys must be done prior to the closing date.
Suppliers must register their attendance of the site visit by Midday 14th October 2019 by completing the annex 11 document and returning by attaching it to an email via the correspondence facility on In-Tend.
