The brief

During the next 3 years there is an anticipated need to ad-hoc furniture requirement at various fire stations as part as the SAIF station improvement works as well as other Capital Projects such as Whitley Wood Training Centre.

As the value of the contract is less than £50,000, the Authority has carried out a market research and acquired three quotes from the following suppliers to provide furniture.

A quote request was sent to suppliers to provide based on the standard furniture requirements which we will be required on an ongoing basis during this period.

Pricing was evaluated based on basket of goods of 21 items based on the Whitley Wood Training Centre fit out requirements.

Access Office Furniture was the only supplier able to supply all items, as well as provided the lowest prices for the individual items available from all 3 suppliers.

Due the to the ad-hoc nature of the requirement and difficulty in forecasting or estimating what will be needed in the span of 3 years, the basket of goods approach was adopted to complete pricing evaluation to award the contract on price only basis to the lowest bidder.

Only Access Office could supply the Op Chairs as well as being the only supplier to provide all the furniture and have the full basket required by RBFRS.
