The brief

Medway Council are recommissioning the Medway Voluntary Community Sector Better Together Consortium.

We are keen to engage with providers to help shape the new service which is to commence on the 1st January 2024.

The current contract is divided into 5 Lots for specific service areas: Lot 1 Infrastructure to support the Voluntary Community Services VCS Organisations in Medway Lot 2 Local Healthwatch Lot 3 Welfare, Debt and Advice Support Service including Local Welfare Provision LWP Lot 4 Carers Information, Guidance and Support, Young Carers and Carers Support Payments Lot 5 Childrens and Adults Visually Impaired Support and Information Services.

The Better Together Consortium services form a strategic leadership group to enable a collaborative partnership approach, to support the needs of Medway residents and was developed with the key objectives of ensuring One set of mutually agreed Key Performance Indicators; A single point of contact to address relevant issues, risks and opportunities; Strategic outcomes achieved by effective collaborative working relationships; Maximum use of community resources; Funding to support the sustainability of smaller VCS organisations; The creation of a mutually agreed collaborative Action Plan.

The aim of this event is to consult with prospective providers on how the current services can be redesigned to continue to support the population of Medway.

Medway Council will be hosting a provider engagement event on Microsoft Teams on the 9 May between 0930 am and 1230 pm.

We encourage all current and prospective providers to attend.
