The brief

The Newcastle Partnership is committed to working with its partners to deliver a healthy, active and safe Borough.

Mental ill health, substance misuse and addiction are serious issues which impact upon a diverse range of people in the Borough, including families and wider communities.

There are a range of specialist services operating across the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme some of which work in partnership with the Borough Council.

After a local analysis of need and based on evidence, there is an exciting opportunity to build upon an established service (currently provided by Open Door) and deliver shared outcomes around the prevention and early intervention agenda for individuals presenting with complex needs.

This is to ensure that appropriate support and timely responses are provided to individuals with complex needs before relevant enforcement action is considered and will also provide support and reassurance to our communities.

The Borough Council of Newcastle-under-Lyme on behalf of the Newcastle Partnership therefore wishes to commission a dedicated early intervention/preventative outreach service from a third sector partner to offer practical and emotional support to those individuals located within the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme identified as needing intensive support with complex needs such as substance misuse and mental health issues.
