GB-Shrewsbury: DOCH 015 Bikeability Cycle Training 2023-24

This is an award notice that Shropshire Council appointed a contractor to provide Bikeability cycle training, from 1 Sept 2023 to 31 Aug 2024 following the allocation of Bikeability funding by the Department for Transport (DfT) for this period.

The focus of the service was the delivery of Bikeability Level 1/2 in primary schools and Level 3 in secondary schools during term time, with option for provision of Bikeability training during school holidays.

Provision includes the delivery of Bikeability Level 1, five Bikeability Plus modules and bespoke training.

The Bikeability training service was commissioned with the following objectives to: · improve cycle skills and road sense · increase confidence to cycle · create a positive perception of cycling · encourage, enable and facilitate more people to cycle, more safely and more often · increase cycling trips · increase the number of children and adults receiving cycle training Staff delivering training are fully accredited Bikeability trainers offering the DfT's Bikeability programme and the contractors' training scheme are Bikeability Registered.
