Tenders are invited for a framework for the repair and maintenance of public buildings open to North West Leicestershire District Council and Charnwood Borough Council ('framework customers').
The framework contract is to be split into five lots: (1)Building (2)Electrical (3)Mechanical / plumbing (4)Decorating (5)Roofing It is envisaged that a single supplier will be appointed to each lot to enable framework customers to be able to make the direct award of individual repair and maintenance jobs within each category estimated at a value of up to £50,000 each.
The framework will not be exclusive.
No commitment is made to the use of the framework by the framework customers.
The Customer reserves the right to appoint more than one bidder to each lot and the Conditions of Contract in section 3 contain relevant drafting should the Customer exercise this right.
This drafting will be removed at the award stage if the Customer appoints a single supplier to each Lot.
The initial framework period is two years, and will commence on 1st May 2017 and end on 30th April 2019.
There is an option to extend the contract for a further two years, in annual increments, subject to satisfactory performance and business need, and at the sole discretion of the Customer.
The maximum contract period is therefore four years.
