The brief

The University is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this ITT for the supply, delivery and installation of an automated platform for plant phenotyping-by-imaging, using a sensor-to-plant approach and with integrated control and data analytics capability.

A key feature of the system will be capability for hyperspectral measurements.

The system will be installed within a high performance controlled environment (CE) facility and integrated with a lysimetry platform as part of the Centre for Photosynthetic Diversity, jointly supported by the Wolfson Foundation and the University.

The Centre, including the separately contracted CE facility and lysimeter system, will be delivered by August 2024, is anticipated to support research needs of Lancaster University academics in the Plant and Crop Sciences over at least the next two decades, and in future may be integrated with a UK phenotyping infrastructure.

The location of the site is Bailrigg Campus, Lancaster, LA1 4YW.

There could be a requirement for further purchases, dependent on future funding.

Lancaster University reserves the right not to award a contract following this tender, nor does it bind itself to accept the lowest price or any quotation.

The contract awarded shall not be split in multiple suppliers to fulfil the options.
