Provision of Blackpool Beach Management Ground Investigation
This sits in the upper-middle of the Construction band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 64,002 valued Construction tenders in our corpus.
Blackpool Council is looking to appoint a single contractor to undertake ground investigation services to inform the detailed design development of the proposed Blackpool Beach Management Scheme for two separate locations.\r The two specifications of the Blackpool Beach Management Scheme are outlined in attachments 1.A and 1.B.
Please ensure you read both specifications and submit a Bill of Quantities for both. \r The location of the ground investigation areas are as follows:\r 1.A - The study area comprises a single length (sub-unit) of existing beach and associated coastal defences, in the Blackpool Central area (sub-unit B1.5), which extends along 3,040m of the frontage.
The site includes Blackpool North Central and South piers.
The promenade, tramway and A584 highway run parallel to the coastline.\r 1.
B - The site comprises two lengths of existing coastal defences, specifically between Little Bispham to Bispham (B1.2) (1,500m long frontage) and Gynn Square to Cocker Square (B1.4) (1,300m long frontage).
The two lengths are separated by approximately 2km.
The Queen's promenade and tramway runs parallel to the coast in a south-south east to north-northwest direction.\r Blackpool Council wishes to appoint a single contractor who can clearly demonstrate the ability to meet our requirements and who offers the most economically advantageous tender. \r It is anticipated that the contract term will be from October 2023 to December 2023 or until satisfactory completion of the work (subject to contract review and budget availability).\r Please note that both sites will need to be fulfilled by one single contractor.
This piece of work will not be split into two separate lots.\r
