The brief

Salford City Council are looking for an organisation to assist with delivering first aid for mental health training for staff who work in a range of statutory and VCSE organisations along with individuals who work in local communities Supporting good mental health in Salford has always been a high priority.

As a city facing challenges around poverty, physical health and education, we have similar challenges around the number of people with emotional wellbeing and mental health needs.

It is estimated that 36,357 people in the city are likely to have a mild to moderate common mental health problem.

Local people tell us that mental health is a priority area for the city and that they recognise the need to focus on building resilience (the ability to manage difficulties and challenges) in the community and supporting people with timely access to high quality mental health services.

By commissioning this training we can help people to improve their mental health and wellbeing knowledge, improve confidence in having mental health and wellbeing conversations and how to support others and signpost to available support and services.
