The brief

Following the publication of VEAT Notice 2022/S 000-007036, BMKFA awarded a contract for the provision of appropriate specialist venues, equipment and facilities, in collaboration with Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Instructors, to deliver firefighting training including Fire behaviour, tactical ventilation simulation, highway scenarios, Breathing Apparatus assessments, Incident Command assessment exercises, Multi-Agency scenarios, Open Programme Instructor development courses and Incident Command refresher courses in accordance with National Operational Guidance and standards.

Accommodation and catering requirements will be included at the venue for BMKFA delegates and Instructors.

As part of the contract package, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service will provide Instructors to the Fire Service College to utilise for up to 300 days a year to support the delivery and development of the Fire Service College courses.

Each day will generate a training credit to be offset against the delivery costs of the contracting Authority's fire service annual training requirements.

The Fire Service College will provide accommodation, provided for the night prior to any delivery, and catering provided on a full board basis to the Authority's Instructors.

The level of facilities, equipment and venue must be appropriate to deliver the required scenarios to meet the current National Operational Guidance and standards, at one location and able to accommodate the opportunities for the further development of the Authority's Instructors whilst providing a flexible cost-effective collaborative solution.

The contract will commence 01 June 2022 for a term of 3 years, with an option to extend a further 24 months at the discretion of the Contracting Authority/Provider.
