The Council is responsible for meeting all the costs of the service and for arranging a toxicology service to support the needs of the Senior Coroner (the Coroner).
The Coroner is required in some circumstances to establish the cause of a person's death.
The Coroner will ask a pathologist to conduct an examination to establish the cause of death, as part of that examination the pathologist may request that samples taken at examination are submitted for toxicological analysis.
