The Company operate a number of cranes in order to load and unload vessels, at Teesport this comprises five mobile harbour cranes, two portal slewing cranes, and four ship-to-shore container cranes.
Ten rubber-tyre gantry cranes alongside a fleet of mobile plant (including reachstackers, forklift trucks, tractor-trailer units, and loading shovels) are used for the internal movement of cargoes within the port.
Two of the Companies mobile harbour cranes (No.1 and No.2 Crane) are approaching the end of their working life and have been made redundant by the recent procurement of the portal slewing cranes (No.6 and No.7 Crane).
The Company wishes to engage a contractor to carry out the safe dismantling and disposal of No.1 and No.2 Crane.
