The brief

'PSNI Transport Services Branch (TSB) requires a call-off contract for maintenance services for its 2 x fixed wing aircraft; a Britten-Norman BN 2T Islander fitted with 2 x Allison 250-B17C engines registration number G-BSWR and a Britten-Norman BN 4S Defender fitted with 2 x Allison 250-B17F engines registration number G-CGTC.

Both aircraft are based at RAF Aldergrove and are used extensively by PSNI in their policing role.

The objective of this procurement is to appoint a single contractor that will provide routine maintenance and reactive repairs on both aircraft.

The contractor will be responsible for minor elements of work required on the aircraft engines however, in line with standard aviation practice, the maintaining and servicing of the engines will be via the manufacturer, and is covered under a separate contract.

Maintenance of all other elements of the aircraft i.e. airframe etc. will be the responsibility of the Contractor either directly or through the use of subcontractors.'
