Domiciliary Care Services for Children and Young People aged 0-25
Notification of Future Domiciliary Care Tender for Children and Young People aged 0-25 and Provider Forum Ealing Council holds a statutory responsibility to provide social care services to children and young people with additional needs and disabilities based on an assessment of need.
Domiciliary care covers the provision of short term and longer term: • Homecare support home for children and young people with disabilities, additional needs and or complex health needs • Inclusion and befriending and positive activities to children and young people with additional needs Ealing Council currently provides a range of domiciliary care provision to 142 Individual children aged 0-18 providing a total of 77,000 hours.
In 2015-16 packages of care were purchased and provided for 56 new children and young people.
Service provision and needs range from low level support in the community and home to more complex and challenging needs.
Ealing Council in 2016-17 will be going out to retender the provision of domiciliary care, through a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) award of approved providers across the range of needs for children and young people aged 0-25.
The council is currently developing the domiciliary care specification and procurement process, with plans to go out to tender for an October 2017 contract start date.
To ensure that the new provisions fully meets our needs and that we are clear on our requirements, a provider forum was held with current and new potential providers on 21st July 2016.
We will now be having a two week consultation on the draft specification attached.
