BEST on behalf of Broxbourne Council is using the ESPO Framework 115_25 to improve and replace older equipment and surfacing with new and updated equipment and surfacing at Broxbourne Play Area, Goffs Oak, Cheshunt Park and Grundy Park.
In this present instance, the Customer is issuing this Invitation to Tender as a Further Competition Lot 1 - Playground Equipment of ESPO Framework 115_25.
OBJECTIVES The objectives of the procurement are: Broxbourne Play Area: The objective of the procurement is to remove and replace/upgrade older pieces of equipment and improve safety surfacing similar to the other sites (wetpour/bonded rubber mulch).
Improvements in inclusivity of the items on the site, as well as introductions of further inclusive play.
The improvements of this play area and upgrades are being made for an increase in safety.
Helping to encourage children to develop coordination, balance and core strength, as well as being easily accessible.
Similarly, this should be of good build quality and made to last with reasonable cost efficiencies.
Goffs Oak: Due to ground conditions and usage at this site, the council will be looking to replace safety surfacing in the toddler area and around junior items such as swinging and rotating items, as well as the multiplay unit.
This is to promote use year-round and to provide better ground conditions for users of the park.
Please use bonded rubber mulch or wetpour safety surfacing, done to a high standard for a long lifespan with reasonable cost efficiencies.
The remaining budget should be used to replace/upgrade older pieces of equipment, preferably increasing inclusive play, such as an inclusive roundabout and play panels.
Cheshunt Park: To replace the old cable runway present at the site with a new and improved cable runway.
Option for a double cable runway would be preferable.
Due to high usage and age, some ground reinstatement works for the unit will also be required.
This replacement is being made to improve the appeal and safety of the park.
This should be of good build quality and made to last with reasonable cost efficiencies.
Further Potential Works The works at Grundy Park are not yet fully approved.
Please provide options for these works and updates/clarifications will be sent out once further information is available.
Grundy Park Surfacing: Due to ground conditions and high usage at this site, the council will be looking to replace safety surfacing in the toddler area and around junior items such as swinging and rotating items, as well as the multiplay unit.
This is to promote use year-round and to provide better ground conditions for users of the park.
Please use bonded rubber mulch or wetpour safety surfacing, done to a high standard for a long lifespan with reasonable cost efficiencies.
Grundy Park Play Equipment: After Grundy Park regeneration works, we no longer have a cable runway present at the park.
