Board Effectiveness Review
This sits in the lower-middle of the Business Services band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 57,319 valued Business Services tenders in our corpus.
The Gambling Commission requires an externally facilitated Board Effectiveness Review (BER), to enable us to meet the requirements of Cabinet Office guidance for arm's-length bodies.
This external BER will review the 2025-26 business year and will identify key recommendations for the Commission's Board effectiveness.
We require the supplier to assess the purpose, culture, values and behaviours of the Board, as well as its' decision-making, structures and relationships.
We also expect the BER to identify any skills gaps that may exist within the Board's membership.
The output will be a BER report and action plan that will enable the Commission's Board to maximise its' effectiveness.
This will be presented by the Supplier at a Board meeting.
Findings from the BER are provided to the Board and DCMS, are reported in the Commission's annual report and accounts.
As part of the resultant contract awarded, we wish to reserve the option, at the sole discretion of the Commission, to extend the contract and undertake a further BER in 2029.
Please note, this is an option that the Commission wishes to reserve and does not constitute a guarantee that we will pursue this option.
