FARM ENVIRONMENT DATA EXPERTISE SUPPORT AHDB are seeking an expert partner with deep knowledge of agricultural environmental data reporting to work with the team developing a business case for an industry-led solution to farm-level environment data.

AHDB recognises that environment data is becoming increasingly important to governments, businesses, and supply chains.

With that, farmers are being asked to measure and report on more and more environmental factors such as carbon footprinting.

At present, this data is uncoordinated and fragmented, meaning farmers are at risk of duplication and contradiction or losing ownership of their data.

This will only increase as businesses start to report on their scope 3, or indirect GHG emissions, to which farming often contributes.

Additionally, financial services could also begin to take environmental performance factors into consideration when loaning or investing funds.

To ensure an efficient, coherent and consolidated solution to environment data custodianship that works for farmers, AHDB, along with key industry organisations, is working to find an industry-led solution.

One that will help farmers take ownership of their data and derive benefits from its value.
