(Please refer to the attached ITQ for the full specification) Objectives • To provide an up to date assessment of the personal injury liabilities for British Shipbuilders broken down by disease type. • To provide a financial assessment of the likely liabilities profile over the next c35 years planning and for use in BIS accounts. • To provide a commentary on the liability assessment and the assumptions used; risks to those assumptions and comment on any forthcoming changes that might impact on the assessment. • The information compiled should be presented in the form or a report document with a supporting summary in PowerPoint form suitable for discussion with non-expert audiences in BIS with the main highlights of the analysis.

Scope The 2016 review will include a fresh estimate of the future financial liability (including claimants’ costs), an estimate of number of claims notified and an estimate number of claims likely to be settled for the following conditions: Asbestos related diseases: • Asbestosis • Lung Cancer • Mesothelioma • Pleural Plaques (limited to Scotland only) • Pleural Thickening • Noise Induced Hearing Loss • Vibration White Finger • Any Other Miscellaneous Diseases (based on claims actually received by Simpson & Marwick (the Department’s claims handlers)
