The brief

Exeter Festival is a new Festival taking place on Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July 2019 delivered by the Communications, Culture and Tourism Team at Exeter City Council with support from local partners.

We are really proud of Exeter, the city is a thoroughly modern city with a rich mix of retail, food and drink and great things to see and do, and because of this Exeter City Council wants to recognise the city's strengths and celebrate Exeter with 'A City Celebration' in the Summer.

There will be various activities taking place across the city with the main focus in Northernhay Gardens.

Northernhay Gardens located only a minute's walk off the High Street, is a heritage park owned by Exeter City Council made up of grassed areas, treed/shrubbery and planted beds.

The Gardens will be transformed for the weekend into a Festival atmosphere featuring children's face painting and making, fresh food and a bustling atmosphere helped by the focal point of a bar.

On Friday 5 July, there will be a VIP Launch Event in the afternoon for our sponsors and partners followed by two ticketed outdoor screenings of The Greatest Showman and Bohemian Rhapsody promoted as 'Exeter Festival Films in the Park'. 'Exeter Festival in the Park' on Saturday 6 July will start at midday with local bands hosted by Adam the Hat and Radio Exe.

In the evening the multi-platinum award-winning band The Hoosiers will take to the stage supported by Joey the Lips.

The Festival will culminate with our 'Exeter Festival Funday in the Park' on Sunday 7 July.

At 10am there will be an outdoor screening of Mary Poppins Returns specifically aimed at families, followed by a full day of fun and free activities and demonstrations.

Exeter City Council is looking for a supplier to offer a full range of drinks with an emphasis on local produce for the duration of the Festival.
