Brief description: At Sandwell Council we are progressive, dynamic, and dedicated to meeting the needs of our community.

We now wish to recruit a Principal Commercial and Contracts Lawyer to its commercial and contracts team who shares our vision.

You must be a qualified lawyer with experience of undertaking specialist legal work within a Local Authority or the public sector on all legal matters in relation to contracts and procurement.

The candidate will have experience relating to complex multi-million pound procurements and contract activities including but not limited to: public health, strategic regeneration and construction projects, subsidy control advice, light touch (schedule 3 of PCRs), IT and adults, children, and education matters.

Ideal Candidate Qualified lawyer - Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FCILEx) with at least five years' post qualification experience.

This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who can demonstrate the ability to deal with a demanding caseload, possess excellent client care skills, and an eagerness to provide a high-quality service to our clients.

The candidate will have existing management experience and supervise the work of junior members of staff.
