The brief

NHS Midlands & Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (ML CSU) on behalf of NHS Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Groups (NHS WCCGs); South Worcestershire CCG ,Wyre Forest CCG and Redditch & Bromsgrove CCG would like to invite potential providers to attend a 'Market Engagement Event' which will inform the direction and market of NHS WCCG's intentions to procure an End of Life Service in Designated Care Homes across Worcestershire.

The aim of the service is to provide a personalised high-quality service in end of life care, responding to the need of the patient and family members.

The objectives and expected outcomes are: To provide consistent high-quality end of life care to patients and family members, by staff that have received end of life care training.

To enable patients at end of life to be cared for in a nursing home if that is their preferred place of care until the end of their life.

To prevent avoidable admissions and readmissions to acute hospital care To enable rapid (same day) discharge from the acute hospitals for patients at the end of life To Support integrated teams by providing rapidly accessible care to patients at the end of life for patients cared for in a community setting.

To remove the current requirement for families to locate and view a Nursing home of their choice.

To deliver End of Life placements that are value for money Further detail will be available in the service specification to be discussed at the Market Engagement Event.

The Market Engagement Event will take place on 5th December 2019 from 10am - 12:30pm and will take place at St Peters Baptist Church in Worcester (Eden Cl, Worcester WR5 3TZ).

The Market Engagement Event will provide:  an overview of the service to be provided  details of the anticipated contract type, length and particular conditions  an overview of the procurement process and the anticipated timelines  an opportunity for you to ask questions and feedback on the presentations.

Places are strictly limited therefore reservations are restricted to no more than 2 persons per organisation.

The service will be commissioned via a procurement process advertised to all providers which is proportionate to the value and complexity of the service and contract.

Any Invitation to Tender (ITT) will also be advertised on Contracts Finder and on MLCSUs' procurement portal, Bravo.
