Energy Efficient Cooking Project (Pilot)
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
Abri implemented a Slow Cooker Project in January 2023, aiming to provide support for customers targeting the cost-of-living crisis by offering support and education around a low energy option for cooking.
We are looking to renew and expand this service to ensure we have low energy cooking projects running where there is a need in all ten of our community investment zones.
Although Abri have previously focused these sessions on the use of slow cookers, we would now encourage potential suppliers to develop their own low energy cooking programmes, focusing on the use of any low energy equipment such as air fryers, microwaves, slow cookers, electric hobs, or any other energy efficient method.
There would be an expectation that when using equipment that participants may not ordinarily have in their homes e.g., slow cooker or air fryer, that each participant is provided with the piece of equipment to keep at the beginning of the course.
This is a pilot project that will run for six months, and it is intended to test the effectiveness and feasibility of the energy efficient program.
The results of this project will be used to assess the viability of scaling up the program.
Additionally, the learnings and feedback gathered from the suppliers and participants will be used to improve the program for future iterations.
We expect partners to commence delivery in September 2023 and to conclude by March 2024 (to run throughout Q3-Q4).
During this time, we would require a minimum of 2x 6-week courses to be run.
One in Q3 (between September and December) and one in Q4 (between January and March).
