The brief

NHS Calderdale, Greater Huddersfield and North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGS) intend to procure a Wheelchair service to carry out assessments and to supply and maintain wheelchairs.

The service will be required to demonstrate: • A commitment to providing for the holistic needs of the service user in every aspect of service delivery (i.e. clinical lifestyle, social, educational) • Design and delivery of services that are personalised, with the service user at the heart of what they do • An ongoing expectation of quality and service improvement and innovation demonstrated by the provider(s) • Continued professional development among staff demonstrated by provider(s) • A commitment to, and evidence from the provider of excellent service user experience, and involvement • A strong commitment to partnership working with related services and the voluntary sector • A modern IT system with the ability to accurately record and track activity • A focus on value for money The service will be procured as two separate Lots: Lot 1 - Assessment for wheelchairs Lot 2 - Supply, maintenance and repair of wheelchairs Potential providers will be able to bid for one or both Lots.

The contracts will be structured as 3 year contracts with two potential 12 month extension periods.

Contract start date 1st October 2019
