This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits in the upper-middle of the Research & Development band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 20,405 valued Research & Development tenders in our corpus.
In response to feedback from a number of local highway authorities (LHAs) Active Travel England (ATE) is looking to set up a contract for the provision of services to provide supplementary guidance to Local Transport Note 1/20.
The purpose of the new guidance will be to take into account a number of factors that influence the propensity for active travel in non-urban environments and supports the development of active travel routes between rural communities and linking satellite settlements to larger urban areas.
In addition, the new guidance will need to cover walking and wheeling as well as cycling.
Rural diagrams, and some photos will also be required.
The final document may be published as a Local Transport Note (LTN) which are held in high regard by highway authorities in providing good practice guidance which highway authorities can use to create standards appropriate for their local needs.
Further discussions will take place with the Department for Transport as to whether there may be a case for the guidance to be issued as an LTN or as an ATE document.
