Framework for the Provision of Individual Tuition Services for SEND & Looked after Children
Under section 19 of the Education Act 1996, the LA has a legal duty to secure suitable, full-time alternative education for those children of compulsory school age who, by reason of illness, exclusion or otherwise, may not for any period receive suitable education unless such arrangements are made for them.
The Council is looking to put together a framework of suppliers who can assist in the delivery of the Local Authority's duties and policy in relation to providing full time education for Bexley children of compulsory school age (ages 5-16) who are not able to attend school for a number of reasons including not having a school place due to just having moved into borough, children with EHCP who have been permanently excluded and require 6th day provision or children who cannot attend school due to health needs and where the medical PRU might not be appropriate
