As part of Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humberside NHS Trust’s policy, any project/job over a specific value requires either 3 quotations or a tender raising, which works well for large projects.

However we also have to take into account our cumulative spend over a 12 month period with each contractor.

This is where we have problems, in that we have a number of projects that fall within the value thresholds per job but cumulatively over the year we exceed the financial spend per supplier.

Andy Stringer (Estates) and myself have looked at the product specifications and narrowed it down to a small selection of floorings which are commonly used throughout the trust.

We have therefore put together a tender with two elements, labour costs and floor coverings, which should enable the Trust to reduce the quotations and further tenders, speeding up payments etc.

NB: Any projects that require different specifications will then revert back to a quotation or tender process and will be not be covered by this tender.

With this in mind the tender is to be costed per meter for the goods and the labour.
