Cefas: Request for Quotation for Specialist Fieldwork Consultancy, Training and Auditing (Water based)
Cefas is a lead Agency in Marine Science and with that remit comes the requirement to work in, on or near to water.
As part of our priority aim to protect the lives of our staff and any other persons who may be affected by our operations, we require a marine safety organisation to supplement internal knowledge and deliver tailored training that ensure all opportunities to remain safe and adopt the highest standards of H&S.
Requirement: An accredited organisation that can provide competent advice and guidance on UK and International Maritime Safety legislation.
This can consist, but not be solely related to: • Vessel Selection • Vessel Management • Emergency Planning and Drills • Fieldwork Safety Policies, Procedures and Guidance There is also a requirement to provide a tailored training syllabus with practical elements in the following areas: • Working in, on or near to Water Safety Awareness (including practical lifejacket use, inspections and drills) • Emergency First Aid (a focus on provision of first aid in remote areas and on floating platforms) • Safety Behaviours in Science (a practical course focusing on active monitoring of hazards in the field) Operating Canoes, Punts, Rowing boats and Inflatables The organisation will also need to complete audits as an external provider to OHSAS 18001 at specified frequencies to evaluate compliance and effectiveness of project H&S implementation.
Quantity: Frequency of consultation and training will depend on Cefas activities.
As a guide at least 15 training days per year and 5 days auditing and consultancy.
Location for goods to be delivered to / services to be undertaken: Cefas Lowestoft/Weymouth and associated field locations where required.
