The brief

This contract award is for the Maintenance of Air Conditioning & Chillers at the University of Kent Canterbury and Medway campuses.

Air Conditioning Service and Maintenance consists of tests, checks, service, and calibration of Air Conditioning systems to prove their correct and efficient operation.

Inspection, maintenance and cleaning programmes maintain the ability of the system to provide healthy and comfortable environments for building occupants, limiting the escape of refrigerant gases and ensuring the safety of equipment.

The main objectives of this tender process are: • Development and agreement of a programme for the service inspection regime of Air Conditioning before the service period • Review of Air Conditioning plant in Building, recording IDs and mark up each one update as necessary current test dates. (Using self-adhesive sticker with ID Number, building, date test) • Arranging access to controlled or hidden areas of building as necessary. • Identifying location, types of units and systems. • Carryout annual maintenance of each Air Conditioning or system to manufactures instructions or to British standard which ever more practicable. • Report status of each unit and marked up with locations IDs. • Updating the asset register accordingly • Producing an Air Condition report for every unit tested for record • List of remedial action quoted and supply to each progress meeting with specific tasks for follow up work.

This contract is for a period of three years with the option to extend by two years in 12-month instalments.
