Research and Writing of Full Historical Reports on subjects shortlisted by the Blue Plaques Panel
This sits below the typical range for Research & Development contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 20,405 valued Research & Development tenders in our corpus.
English Heritage’s blue plaques scheme employs an Historian and a Business Manager who undertake most of the work necessary to support the installation of blue plaques.
On occasion it commissions historical research into individuals and buildings for whom or which a blue plaque has been proposed, and which the Blue Plaques Panel has shortlisted for full historical research.
This brief sets out the requirements for a Historical Consultant to provide a cost and project plan for research and delivery of one final report currently on the blue plaques shortlist.
The principal aim of this project is to commission a series of final reports on a selected number - up to 3 cases, per order – up to three times over the financial year April 2015 to March 2016, for presentation to the Blue Plaques Panel, which meets three times a year – June, October and February.
The reports will also guide any subsequent installation of the plaques (should the Panel agree such installations) and serve as a basis for material issued to the public: for example, in press releases and any material used in any future publications.
