The brief

Chorley Council is inviting tenders for a Principal Contractor and Principal Designer for the design and build of Whittle-le-Woods General Practice (GP) Surgery as more particularly described in the Invitation to Tender and associated documents.

The current Whittle Surgery site has been deemed not fit for purpose; the practice is working from a small, old, damp building which is only 245.84m².

There are currently 10,100 patients and the recommended space for this number of patients is more than 679m².

Following an options appraisal, the decision to proceed with a new building which will be fit for purpose and designed as an extendable building to take into account it's ever-increasing patient numbers and will be capable of taking services out of hospitals was taken.

The new building to accommodate GP Surgery tenant comprising 10 Consultant and 2 Treatment rooms as primary clinical need adopting the principles set out in a previously completed design.

This opportunity is to take the current design proposal from end of RIBA Stage 3 through to completion and in-use.

There will be an opportunity to visit the site which will be held on Wednesday 12th February at 11.am.

Interested bidders are asked to provide details of their attendance in advance via the Chest.

There will be a limit of 2 attendees per organisation.

Bidders are asked to provide the names of the attendees via the Chest when confirming their attendance.

Interested bidders should register their interest via the Chest at www.the-chest.org.uk in order to access the full specification/drawings and invitation to tender documentation.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm Thursday 27th February 2020.

Completed tender documents must be submitted and received via the Chest by no later than 12 Noon on Friday 28th February 2020
