Database Property Search
The Department of Transports "Gear Change" strategy has opened up the possibility of further tackling cycle crime in the UK through a range of measures.
This has presented the opportunity to redesign the approach in searching against databases that capture information relating to property and potentially stolen property offering to produce a more effective and inclusive model for our employees.
Property databases are a means of asset management in the UK.
They give the opportunity for an owner of a piece of property to register its details and apply a tamper proof sticker, security marking or forensic marking that makes it easier to identify if required.
The required solution is to create a search engine that will search all currently available databases as well as open source marketplaces.
This will enable a single point of entry into multiple opportunities to search and bring back a result, no matter what databases are in existence.
It will then enable the signposting to the relevant database should further detail be required, but will ensure the person searching has sufficient information to recover stolen property, carry out due diligence checks and detect and disrupt crime.
