A Fire Risk Assessment completed highlighted concerns that the building fire compartmentation and fire doors at Lanark Close were non-compliant and recommended a further detailed survey of the fire compartmentation and fire doors.

A subsequent survey of the existing fire compartmentation and fire doors at Lanark Close has significant breaches / failures.

Lanark Close provides respite services for adults with special needs and/or disabilities and has been classed as a Tier 1 by the fire risk and strategy group.

A detailed design and schedule of works has been completed for the required remedial works to the fire compartmentation and fire doors in consultation with Building Control which details the required works to ensure Lanark Close has a compliant fire strategy.

The decision is to progress a direct award with T Manners & Sons Ltd under the terms and conditions of the NEPO207 Construction Works Lot 2 up to £1.0m Tees Valley for urgent fire stopping works and fire door repairs at Lanark Close
