Framework for the Provision of Short Break Services for Disabled Children and Young People
London Borough of Bromley Childrens' Services are seeking Contractors to participate in a framework providing quality Short Breaks for Disabled Children and Young People.
Providers are expected to provide enjoyable Short Break activities and experiences after school, during school holiday periods or, during weekends (minimum duration of 2 hours per session), for Children and Young People with Disabilities.
Services can be provided within the context of an existing 'universal' provision, i.e. one which is not Disability specific, or within the context of an existing 'targeted' provision, (wholly/partly catering for the needs of Children and Young People with Disabilities) to focus provision on ways that promote the personal well-being and development of the Child or Young Person receiving the support; The Children & Young People will be aged between birth and 18 years, • Are identified as being on the Autistic spectrum; • Have severe Learning Disabilities and/or display behaviours which are challenging; • Have Physical Disabilities and/or complex Health Needs; • Have Disabilities or those with associated impairments such as cognitive and/or sensory impairments; • Have moving and handling needs and/or require special equipment or adaptations.
