The brief

Bassetlaw CCG wishes to Commission the Provision of extended GP Hours in line with National Requirements.

The intention is to pilot the extended hours service for a period of time from October 2018, prior to conducting a procurement.

The intent of the pilot is to ascertain an effective service configuration including where appointments are offered, when appointments are offered and the type of appointments (service type and delivery method) that should be offered to best improve access to services for the patients of Bassetlaw.

The contracts(s) awarded will provide local extended hours coverage for the three "Primary Care Home Footprints" of Bassetlaw's registered Population.

It is expected this procurement shall commence from April 2019, and will draw on the lessons of the pilot in terms of service configuration and specification.

A draft specification is attached and the CCG would ask that if you are a genuine / viable potential provider for one or more of the lots that you express an interest by responding to the questions below in no more than 500 words.

Describe how your organisation could deliver the contract, demonstrating quality, equitable access and value for money within the fixed maximum financial envelope?

1) Explain and evidence how your organisation will deliver patient experience at least commensurate to that already received by the Bassetlaw Population.

This is demonstrated by the CCG position as 3rd highest satisfaction in the country for appointments being convenient and 3rd highest in the country for overall good experience of GP surgery (2017 survey).

2) Explain and evidence how your organisation will deliver quality standards at least commensurate to those already received by the Bassetlaw Population.

These would, as a minimum, be rated good by the CQC, preferably outstanding.

3) Explain how could your organisation would work seamlessly with existing service provision and partner organisations.

4) Explain how your organisation would propose to balance safe continuity of care with flexibility and convenience of appointment Please send your submission to the NHS Sourcing portal before the deadline of noon on 4th October 2018.

All subsequent documentation will be published through this eTendering portal.

Dependent upon the response to this PIN the authority will determine if this requirement will form the basis of a competitive procurement process.
