The brief

GBC is seeking to appoint a supplier for providing strategic advice and financial modelling for affordable housing developments.

As part of its commitment to provide new affordable housing, GBC is bringing forward a portfolio of sites for redevelopment.

Work has been undertaken to develop scheme designs and, in some instances, planning approval has been obtained.

Several other schemes are in the pipeline and it is envisaged that more schemes will follow.

GBC intends to develop the projects itself, retaining the affordable housing created within the HRA.

The assets created will be managed and maintained by GBC for the duration of their life.

GBC wants to test the viability of its schemes and is seeking to appoint a single suitably qualified and experienced firm with a demonstrable and up-to-date track record in advising Councils and / or Housing Associations on affordable and mixed-tenure housing projects.

The requirement is to provide strategic and financial advice to GBC in relation to its programme of affordable-led housing development.

The requirement includes one initial piece of work but will run for up to a four year period , during which GBC will call-off work as required to help ascertain the viability of its development schemes. o Impact on general fund o Payback over thirty years
